Privacy Policy
Choreless (“we”, “us”, “the app”) is a shared household task manager for couples and families. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We keep the app's data footprint deliberately small.
1. Who we are
Choreless is operated by Lyratech sp. z o.o. If you have questions about this policy or your data, contact us at support@choreless.app.
2. Information we collect
Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address and display name. When you sign up with email, we confirm the address by sending a one-time 6-digit code to it. If you use Sign in with Apple, Apple provides your name and an email address (which may be Apple's private-relay address if you choose to hide your email); if you use Sign in with Google, Google provides your name and email address. We never receive your Apple or Google password.
Optional profile details. During sign-up we ask a few optional questions — your gender, an age band, and who lives with you — used only to personalize the app (for example, which avatar illustration represents you). If you choose to set a profile photo, we store the image you pick; this is optional and always user-initiated.
Household content you create. Tasks, shopping-list items, “tracks” (categories), your household's name, task assignments and completions, streaks, and “thank-you” reactions. This content is shared with the members of your household so the app can work as a shared list.
Notification identifiers. A device push-notification token (managed by our push provider, OneSignal) so we can deliver reminders, morning digests, and thank-you notifications. You control this by allowing or denying notification permission.
Usage analytics. Product-analytics events (for example: sign-up, task created/completed, invite sent) and person properties such as whether you are in a solo or paired household and how many days since sign-up. This is processed by our analytics provider, PostHog. We do not log the text of your tasks, item names, or invite codes as analytics events — though, as described next, task and item names can be visible in session recordings.
Session recordings. To understand where people get stuck, PostHog also records replays of your sessions — the screens you moved through and where you tapped. A replay is built from screenshots, so whatever is on screen at that moment appears in it, including the names of your tasks and shopping-list items. Anything you type into an input field, and any images, are masked on your device before a replay is uploaded. Replays are linked to your account, kept for 30 days, and then deleted. We use them only to diagnose problems and improve the app — never for advertising, and we never sell them.
Subscription status (if/when you subscribe). If you purchase a subscription, the payment itself is processed by Apple — we never see your card details. We receive your subscription status (active/expired) to unlock features, via our subscriptions provider (RevenueCat).
Technical data. Basic device and app information (e.g. OS version, app version) needed to operate the app and diagnose problems.
We do not collect your precise location, contacts, photo library, or health data (the only photo we ever store is an avatar you explicitly choose), and we do not use advertising trackers.
3. How we use your information
- To provide the core service: create and sync your household, tasks, and shopping list across members.
- To send notifications you've enabled: task reminders, the morning digest, and thank-you pushes.
- To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- To understand product usage in aggregate and improve the app.
- To provide access to paid features if you subscribe.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
4. How information is shared
With your household. Members of your household can see the shared household content (tasks, shopping items, activity, who completed what). This is the purpose of the app.
With service providers who process data on our behalf:
| Provider | Purpose | What it processes |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Database, authentication, hosting | Account + household data |
| OneSignal | Push notifications | Push token, notification content |
| PostHog | Product analytics and session replay | Usage events, person properties, session recordings |
| Apple | Sign in with Apple; subscription billing | Authentication, payments |
| Sign in with Google | Authentication | |
| Resend | Email delivery (sign-in and security codes) | Email address, email content |
| RevenueCat | Subscription status | Purchase/entitlement status |
These providers are bound to use the data only to provide their services to us. We may also disclose information if required by law.
5. Where your data is stored
Your data is stored on our providers' infrastructure, which may be located in the United States. By using the app you understand your information may be processed there.
6. Data retention and deletion
We keep your information while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time in the app: go to Settings → Delete account. Deletion is permanent and:
- If you are in a shared household with a partner, your account is removed and the shared household (and its tasks/history) passes to the remaining member.
- If you are the only member, the household and all of its data are deleted.
Your personal identifiers are removed from our active systems promptly. Backups and provider logs may persist for a limited period before being overwritten.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live (e.g. under GDPR or CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. You can exercise deletion directly in the app (Section 6), or contact us at support@choreless.app for any other request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
8. Children
Choreless is intended for adults managing a household and is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Security
We protect your data with industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit and row-level access controls that keep each household's data separate. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the “Effective date” above and, for material changes, provide a notice in the app or by email. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
